Happy to be Home

Reagan is so happy to be home! She was very excited to play with all her toys, and trust me when I tell you that she played with ALL of them. It was as if she wanted to make sure that each and every one was still here at the house! We still have a long road ahead of us for her recovery, but after 11 days in the hospital, we are just thrilled to be home!

The Nurses

All the nurses took excellent care of us while we were in the hospital. Reagan was getting her hugs goodbye from Katie and Trina just before we were finally discharged to GO HOME!

Her Favorite Things

Her favorite things in the hospital were eating popsicles, reading books with her Daddy, and snuggling with her Mommy. And she wouldn't let go of Dixie, the little pink puppy dog. Before too long, even the nurses had learned to say "Where's Dixie" and then hand her the stuffed animal whenever she would get upset. Most of the time, just holding onto that puppy would settle her down.

The IV

Just when we thought we might be able to go home, Reagan suddenly got much worse. She developed a bacterial infection (Staphylococcus) on top of the RSV which required an IV to be put in. They kept her arm bandaged up like a cast so that the IV would stay in place.

Feeling Better for Now

The feeding tube was removed, and Reagan was so happy to be without it! She developed an infection on her face from the tube and the tape that was used to keep it in place, but she is still all smiles at this point! Little did we know the worst was still yet to come.

The Tube

She became very dehydrated, and she wasn't able to eat or drink since she was having trouble breathing. So, a feeding tube was put in place. These pictures show her at some of the sickest moments with RSV.

The Mask

Surprisingly, Reagan didn't mind the mask that she had to use to receive her breathing treatments while in the hospital. It was obvious that she realized that being able to breathe made her feel better, so she actually WANTED to do the masks.

Reagan is Admitted to the Hospital

Reagan was diagnosed with RSV, and admitted to Langley Memorial Hospital. We are in the very early stages of the illness in this picture, so Reagan is still all smiles. She was very excited about the flower her Daddy got for her in the hospital gift shop!

SWIMMING

We go swimming on Monday's and Wednesday's at the local pool and Reagan loves it. She is like a fish in the water. Cousin Brady and Auntie Denise join us for the Monday classes. We have SO much fun!
Thanks again Elizabeth for Mommy's awesome bathing suit!

It's All Momsey's Fault!

Momsey, it's all your fault! I had to create a "Reagan cabinet" upon returning from our trip to SC. And the green cup lives on in Canada!

Big Girl Car Seat

Reagan has moved into her big girl car seat. It must be the most comfortable thing in the world... she falls asleep within minutes every time she is in it!!

Home Again to the Frozen North

After being in the mild SC climate, it was quite a shock to come home to snow. We were enjoying 80 degree weather while in SC... the -14 temperature is certainly a change for us! Here is a view from our front door looking out across the street at the snow only 2 days after we got home!

Where is Reagan?

Auntie Anna thought that it was a fun game to hide Reagan from her Mommy. She was trying to hide her so that we wouldn't take her back home with us to Canada. Fat chance of that happening Auntie Anna! She started off the game by hiding Reagan in the suitcase. Not the smartest idea since we would obviously be taking the suitcases with us! The object of her game was to keep Reagan in SC!! She tried hiding Reagan in Momsey's laundry basket, but Reagan didn't like it too much. However, Reagan thought it was the coolest thing in the world when Auntie Anna tried to hide her in the washing machine! Sorry Anna, there is no where that you could put her that would prevent her Mommy from keeping her close ALL THE TIME!

And yes, Reagan does have clothes. But it was so hot the entire time that we were in SC that it was pointless to wear them. I think the temperature was below 60 only one day the entire time that we were there. Unfortunately, Mommy didn't pack for summer-type temperatures. So, Reagan enjoyed the weather by staying as naked as possible!

The Sucker

Reagan had her first sucker while visiting Momsey at her school, and she had her second sucker while we were at Uncle Doug's basketball game. She LOVES them! Since she doesn't have any teeth yet, I figure I can give her some of the "sweet stuff" without the worry of anything rotting out of her mouth!!

"Uncle" Doug

Reagan got to meet "Uncle Doug" when we went to see him coach his team, the Columbus State Cougars, to a grand victory over UNC Pembroke the day before we left to go back to Canada. Doug is the husband of Mommy's best friend and former college "roomie", Toni. Toni had to stay home with Virgina and Katherine (who is only 5 days older than Reagan), but hopefully next time we will get to see her too! Uncle Doug was teaching Reagan all about basketball... she totally loved watching the game. And she was REALLY watching it! We were all amazed at how much she enjoyed the whole thing... loud noises, music, cheerleaders, and the ball players. She was taking it all in! And she was instantly smitten with Uncle Doug... thank you again for the awesome rattle!! We were so excited that you got to hang out with us during the girls' game before your boys hit the court!

Doing the Dishes

Reagan decided that Momsey needed help loading up the dishwasher.

"Wow Momsey, this is fun!"

Feed me Auntie Anna!

Auntie Anna took over the feeding process for dinner. Reagan is always ready to eat up the extra attention!

Weston

Reagan made a new friend at Mommy's Arbonne party. Mommy's friend Elizabeth brought her son Weston, and the two little ones were of course the highlight of the evening!

Chillaxin'

Reagan was chillaxin' with her Daddy on the couch. It's a tough life being a princess!

Hairbows

I am so excited that Reagan's hair is finally long enough to wear hairbows! I love dressing her up, and the hairbows are the ultimate finishing touch!

Peppermints

Pops has been spoiling Reagan and letting her have some of his peppermints. She thinks that it is super yummy!

Playing with Momsey

Reagan loves it when Momsey gets down in the floor with her to play in the tupperware cabinet!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Reagan was a party animal... she stayed up until 12:30 going strong on New Years Eve! We had fun watching the fireworks in the neighborhood and counting down the minutes until 2007. She finally decided that it was time for bed just before 1 am. She's just like her mom... a night owl!
