Grandma & Grandpa Knopp came for a visit, and Reagan enjoyed getting spoiled by grandparents all over again! June was quite the month for Reagan to get some extra love and attention!!

The Swing Set
Reagan got a big swing set playground for our backyard for her birthday, and we finally were able to put it up for her! It took Ryan and I almost 8 hours to put it together. It would have gone much faster, but we had to keep taking turns keeping Reagan off of it. She was so excited! It seems crazy, but at only 14 months old, she is able to climb up the stairs and the rock climbing wall ALL BY HERSELF and then slide down super fast! We knew she would love the swings and the slide, but we were shocked at her climbing ability. She is such a little monkey!

Her First Haircut
At 14 months old, Reagan had her first haircut. I only cut the back of her hair, but I was able to cut almost 2 inches off of the back! It had really gotten long (and quite scraggly) in the back, and I wanted the top part to be able to catch up faster. In another few months, the top will be long enough to have a cute little bob cut for her!

At The Playgroud with Momsey
Momsey and Reagan were best buddies, and they loved playing together everyday. Momsey taught Reagan how to play hide and go seek, and she taught her how to do the shuffle dance while we were there. So Reagan decided that she needed to teach Momsey a thing or two as well, so off we went to the park! They had lots of fun playing on the swings and the slide! (I hate to tell you Reagan, but Momsey used to go down the slide with me too! You'll have to find something else to teach her to do!)

Read Me a Book, Pops!
Reagan loves to read, and she likes to be read to. It didn't take her long to figure out that if Mommy was too busy trying to soak up the sun, all she had to do was bat her eyelashes at either Momsey or Pops and she would instantly get her way. Needless to say, they both did a lot of reading to Reagan while we were there!!

Up and Down the Boardwalk
Photo Sharing - Video Sharing - Share Photos - Free Video Hosting
Reagan became a pro at running up and down the boardwalk at the beach. She would get so excited as she would come down because it usually meant she was heading for one of two places... her pool or the pier!
She's a Talker!
Reagan loves to bring you one of her favorite things... bubbles! She'll hand them to you and say, "bubbles bubbles." Of course that means she wants you to help her blow them. She is really turning into quite the talker. I'm amazed at her vocabulary because she will repeat just about anything you say to her. Not all things are as clear as others, but you can pretty much tell what she is trying to say. She can even repeat something as hard to say as "butterfly". So yes, we now have to be very careful what we say in front of her, because more than likely she will turn around and say it right back to us!! She's also learning what things mean like up and down, hot and cold, inside and outside... she's just growing up way too fast!

Happy Father's Day
Father's Day turned out to be quite an eventful day for us. Ryan had to fly back home to Canada that day, so we got up and left the beach house at 3:00 in the morning to make the 3 hour drive to Raliegh, NC. We arrived at the airport shortly after 6:00am, and it was then that we realized that we had left Ryan's passport at the beach house. OH NO! We tried to still get him on the flight, but with the new passport laws for US air travel, it wasn't going to happen. So we had to drive three hours back to the beach house, get the passport, and then turn around and drive three hours back to the airport to get him on the last flight of the day. The good part of all of this was that it allowed Ryan about an hour to play on the wagon with Reagan on Father's Day when we went back to the beach house for the passport. Otherwise, he would have spent all of Father's Day on the plane. Of course, this meant that he spent all of Father's Day Night on the plane and then had to go to work pretty much as soon as he got home. Lesson learned... we will always check to make sure that we have the passports BEFORE leaving for the airport in the future! Reagan enjoyed getting to spend time with Momsey that day. She doesn't like to be in her car seat for long periods of time, so we didn't make her go for the second trip to the airport!

Playing in the Sand

Reagan had never played in the sand before, so Pops made her a little sand pile at the beach house. She had never been much for getting dirty, and she would quickly come to you to help her clean off when she gets anything on her hands. (She's so cute when she says dirty... and she can say it clear as a bell!) But sand became a whole new world for Reagan. Once she got used to it, she would roll around in it, bury her hands and feet, pour it on her head, and love every second of it. Pops taught her how to rub her hands together to get the sand off, and she was so proud that she could get rid of the "dirty" all by herself!

The Fishing Dog
Photo Sharing - Video Sharing - Share Photos - Free Video Hosting
I know that I have posted pictures of my fishing dog Dixie on this blog in the past. Check out this video to see exactly what I was trying to tell you from the still photos! She barks like crazy to tell Ryan to hurry up and bait the hook. Then she will bark until he gets the line casted out into the water. She will then sit and wait for him to reel it in. As soon as she sees the hooks, regardless of whether there is a fish on the end or not, she starts barking again until it is back in the water! She's a nut!

One Thirsty Girl
Reagan worked up quite a thirst from her aquarium adventures. We bought her this cool cup from the gift shop, and she loved proving that she was a big girl by drinking out of the curly straw. She fell in love with this cup, and she preferred it over her sippy cup UNTIL IT BROKE when it fell on the floor a few days later. If anyone is heading back to the NC Aquarium any time in the near future, let me know! We need you to pick us up another cup like this one!!
She's a Little Marine Biologist
It shouldn't have surprised me as much as it did because I used to want to be a marine biologist myself. But I think Reagan is making the career decision at a much younger age than I ever considered! She was a natural. The biologist who was showing Reagan all of the animals and "critters" in the touch pool was shocked to see how Reagan interacted with everything that she was showing her. Reagan has no fear, and she was ready to touch and play with whatever that lady was going to put in front of her!
The NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher
My mom and dad thought that Reagan would be too young to enjoy the aquarium, but they were good grandparents and took us anyway. Boy were they wrong! Reagan couldn't get enough of the place. She was fascinated by everything, and she loved seeing all of the fish. She would stand at each display and stare! It was like pulling teeth to get her to leave. When you watch the video clip, you can hear her talking to the fish!

The Ferry Boat
We took the ferry from Southport to Fort Fisher so that we could go to the NC Aquarium. This is something that my family has been doing for years, as I can remember making that trip countless times as a young girl myself. It's funny how the ferry boat ride seemed so much shorter now that I am older! History taught us to always bring a little snack along for the ride, but not for us. The snack is for all of the sea gulls that follow the ferry! Reagan thought it was the coolest thing to see all of the birds, especially so up close and personal!! "Bird" is a word that she has been saying for quite some time now, but she couldn't stop saying it this day!

Swimming in the Pool
Reagan absolutely loves swimming. She was such a little cutie-pie swimming in the pool at the beach. She would stay in it all day if we let her! She loved splashing and kicking and just being wet in the hot sun!

The Jet Ski
Pops and Daddy took Reagan on her first jet ski ride! We weren't sure if she would like it or not... of course she did! She was so comfortable on it that after only about 10 minutes of riding, she had fallen asleep!
