Not Me! Monday

Nope, it has not been over 2 weeks since I last posted, and it certainly has not been almost SIX MONTHS since my last Not Me post! No way would I neglect my blog. Not Me!

So what else have I not been doing? Well, let's see...

I certainly did not, after completing a three day total body cleanse, join my family for dinner at McDonalds and proceed to eat nearly everything in sight. I mean, who would be crazy enough to endure three whole days of cleansing to then just turn around and stuff themselves silly with fast-food nastiness. Surely not me!

My child did not have a melt-down in the middle of Toys R Us because we wouldn't agree to purchase the Polly Pocket motor home for her. My child did not then decide to continue that melt down throughout the mall, and in the parking lot, and in the car, and even into our home. It did not require a slight act of bribery to convince her to chill out. We have now implemented a daily allowance chart system so that Reagan can earn her own money to go buy her own toys. This system was not put in place to pawn some of our own chores off onto our daughter... no way!
One of the many items on Reagan's allowance chart is that she will earn 25 cents a night if she sleeps in her big girl bed all night long all by herself. After over a week of success with this venture, I am not actually a little disappointed. I do not miss snuggling with her during the night and waking up to her smiling face each morning. I do not feel torn by the feelings of wanting her to remain a little girl and yet being so proud of her for finally sleeping in her big girl bed once again. I am not confused by my feelings of enjoying having room to stretch out and roll over in my bed, and yet missing the cuddles and snuggles that I would be getting otherwise.

I am not already considering lowering her allowance since she is bleeding my change purse dry!

I am not such a negligent mother that it was only just this past weekend that Reagan had her first ever dentist appointment. No way would I wait until just before she turns FOUR to tackle this adventure! After the appointment, I did not decide that it really didn't matter anyway because Reagan was an absolute ROCKSTAR at the dentist and we were told that she has perfect teeth. She did not love it and has not already asked to go back again. We did not have to listen to her the rest of the day telling us to check out her "sparkle like diamonds" teeth, and she certainly did not tell us all day long that we needed to wear sunglasses because her teeth were so bright. I do not have a drama queen on my hands! Oh well, at least she's a drama queen with good teeth!!!

And finally, we are not at all excited for the 2010 Winter Olympics that begin in just 4 days! As my brother-in-law likes to say, the Olympics are taking place in our own backyard. Vancouver is less than an hour away, and we do not plan to head downtown to participate in as many of the festivities as possible!

I plan to do a separate post in the next couple of days to tell you how we spent today, so I will just leave you with this teaser... this is not me and Reagan holding the official Olympic torch!
So there you have it. If you feel the need for some free therapy in the form of admitting all of the things that you so did not do, then head on over to MckMama's blog to see what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

It looks like you had an exciting day...can't wait to hear more!
I hate meltdowns over toys! I'm glad your reward chart is working.
I haven't taken Lexie to the dentist yet. They'll have to sedate her to look at her teeth!

I am just taking my kids for the first time too. And my son is 6. Yikes. We were supposed to go today, and had to reschedule again, because of snow, again. lol. Oh well. It's funny what little "cute" phrases the kids catch on to. My dd is very aware of "sugar bugs" now, and there is a new enthusiasm to brush. Whatever gets them there! Great post.

LOVE the allowance chart!! We have a similar chart and the girls can earn prizes (that I pick up while I'm out / find on sale / etc) based on the number of stickers they earn. So it's less $$ to shell out :) Can't wait to hear about how you got to hold the olympic torch!

What a totally cute post. I think every mommy could write a similar post to this one.
Oh, how I feel your pain with the body cleanse. I don't know if I will ever take on that adventure again!!
We are so excited about the Olympics, Trey pretends to ski down the hallway all the time.
Have a fabulous day!
