37 Weeks and READY!

Holy Hallelujah!  My parents are here, which means I can finally relax about going into labor!  I was beginning to worry that Reagan was going to get a very early lesson in exactly how babies are born, but I can now rest assured that she will be taken care of at HOME while we are at the hospital.  My neighbors across the street had offered to keep her, and I secretly think that they were hoping that I was going to go into labor before my parents got here.  We would have gladly sent her to them, but felt like that was a lot to ask of them as well!

I am now at the end of my 37th week, and I am READY for Myers to get here.   For the longest time, I kept saying that I wasn't ready for his arrival because I wasn't ready to NOT be pregnant any more.  You see, this could quite possibly be my last pregnancy, and I am one of those women who love being pregnant.  But I have reached my breaking point.  I'm done.  I'm ready.  Bring on the labor and get what feels like a 20 pound baby that is already 3 feet long out of me!!!  My bags are packed for the hospital, and they are already loaded into the truck.  I've finished all of my nesting projects, and the nursery is done.  I'm READY!

At last week's Doctor's appointment, I was half a centimeter dilated.  This week I was at a full centimeter.  I am hoping that means that labor is not too far away!  For Reagan, I didn't dilate until I went into labor, so hopefully this is a sign of a smoother delivery than hers.  For that story, click here!

For now, we are just playing the waiting game.  Have any tips on how to naturally bring on labor?  If so, send them my way!  Did I mention that I am ready?  Ryan is ready too!  And Reagan... she's ready to hug her baby brother for REAL instead of through my belly!
We are all ready!

spicy food....full bladder....castor oil...all things I've heard spur on labor. As well as "gettin' busy"....but we won't go there!! :)
Praying for a smooth and fast delivery! His nursery is so cute!

You look great! The nursery looks so lovely...perfect for a little boy. =( I know what you mean about being ready...lol. Take walks, warm baths (as long as your mucus plug is still intact), ride down a bumpy road, or have "relations"...these things are all rumored to help labor along. Can't wait to see pictures!

Oh...I love the nursery...and you look so GOOD! I love your belly ;)I agree...this is probably our last, and I enjoy being pregnant :) Not the heartburn and going to the bathroom all the time, but it's definitely something to cherish!

We will be excited to hear the news too! So glad you're able to relax now that you're parents are here...I am feeling the same way...but have some very kind and dependable neighbors who will help out in a second! Best wishes!

Everything is beautiful . . . the nursery, you, your belly with the baby and all the hugs from his big sister!! I don't know what spurs on labor, but it seems you've gotten some good advice from friends who've been there, done that. My Mom used to mop floors in the house constantly and I'm sure that my parents didn't slow down in the "bedroom" either - thus SEVEN children!! Myers will come when he's ready and not a minute sooner. Since you're enjoying your pregnancy I pray that God will bless you richly with a healthy baby and nothing but JOY!!! We love you, girl!

Wow, I am wondering if maybe Myers is here. I am a little behind on reading my blogs. You look incredibly good, and the nursery is just perfect.
I pray that you will have a smooth, uneventful labor and receive a healthy, sweet baby boy!!!
