Not Me! Monday

It's that time again! Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

I did not briefly come to tears on Tuesday last week as I watched my little girl at her first gymnastics lesson without me. No way am I that crazy lady! And I do not want to freeze her in a little time capsule so that she will just stay this age forever because I feel that she is growing up WAY too fast. And the time capsule idea certainly would not be so that I can put off the dreaded hormonal teenage years for as long as possible!

I have not spent the majority of the past week pacing through my house while worrying about my husband's upcoming third back surgery. I did not phone the neurosurgeon's office so many times last week that the receptionist now knows who I am by the sound of my voice. I am not currently ready to pull out all of my hair from the uncertainty of it all. I am not sitting by the phone all day today to find out exactly what time his surgery will be tomorrow. (Yes, we do have a confirmed surgery date for tomorrow!)

I am not extremely proud of the fact that I have COOKED dinner every single night for almost three weeks in a row. I do not think that this may be a new record for me! For this reason, my husband does not normally refer to the phone book as my cookbook. And I do not have little sticky notes that say, "I'm cooking dinner as fast as I can dial." NOT ME!

I am not simply thrilled by the fact that my almost three year old daughter has decided that she will no longer take baths, but that she will now only take showers all by herself. I most certainly am not happy about the fact that I will no longer have to break my back leaning over the bathtub, or that I will have to clean soapy water off the of the floors each night. I did not get so excited about this accomplishment that I even wrote about it in my Facebook status bar. (She really did do it all by herself... soap, shampoo, conditioner... over and over and over again! She LOVES the shower!)

And finally, my poor husband is not complaining that he is now in a household of two females who like to use up all the hot water in the house.

What did you NOT do this week?

You're lucky! My almost 3 year old daughter hates showers and insists on baths. They do grow up much too fast, I'm with you on that.

Tiff, I know plenty of concerned caretakers of patients like you (as I deal with scheduling appts. for VIPS)...you are not insane. It's kinda nice as a secretary to recognize someone's voice for a change :) Always be nice...we have power.... ;)

Ooooh, I did not just use up all of the hot water for my shower tonight :)

That is awesome your little one likes showers!

Hope everything goes well with your husband's surgery.

If you find a way to freeze your daughter in a time capsule, will you please let me know? I'm very interested in that technology. My grandma always used to tell me she was going to put a brick on my head to keep me from growing, but I don't think there's any science to back that approach up....

I hope your husband's surgery went well.

I am right there with you on the cooking dinners! I've spent the last two weeks planning out meals at the beginning of the week and it has made SUCH a difference. Spending less money, enjoying cooking more, happy husband...perks all around :)
