The Stanley Cup

It's that time of year in the Knopp household... time for the NHL Stanley Cup Hockey Playoffs! While hockey may not be my first choice of sporting event to watch, it is a very integral part of my marriage. After all, my husband and I did meet at a hockey game! (Maybe I'll tell that story some other time...) During the regular season, we usually only watch our hometown Vancouver Canucks, which means that we are watching hockey at least three nights a week from September to April. Honestly, that is all I can take. Trying to watch that much hockey in between all of our other 30+ programs that we watch a week is sometimes a bit much. Can you tell that we possibly watch a little too much TV? But during the 2 months of playoff hockey, I agree to watch it all. I have to admit though, I am sometimes cheering the loudest of anyone during game seven of the final series just because I know that means that it is all finally over! Knowing that I have a tendency to feel that way, I decided to do something to make it a little more entertaining for me this year. I JOINED RYAN'S PLAYOFF HOCKEY POOL! You heard it hear first folks, the Detroit Red Wings are going to win the Stanley Cup this year... and by doing so I will hopefully win $200! My prediction is that the final series will be the Detroit Red Wings and the Washington Capitals. Here's my pool team of ten players, several of which are Red Wings. Wish me luck!

PAVEL DATSYUK ~ NICKLAS LIDSTROM ~ JOHAN FRANZEN ~ JIRI HUDLER ~ MARTIN HAVLAT ~ KRIS VERSTEEG ~ ANDREW LADD ~ MICHAEL NYLANDER
TOMAS FLEISCHMANN ~ ALEXANDRE BURROWS

No, I watch way too much TV! Never watched hockey though, but I have suffered through a few football games ;o)

Good luck, I hope your prediction comes true! If it does do I get a piece of that cash? After all, I am a pretty good bloggy buddy and I could totally pull my weight around your house or somethin.

Hailing from Michigan, there are some hockey fans in our household. I've been to more Red Wings game than any other sporting event in my life.
