The Captain of the Boat

Reagan decided that she should be the captain of the boat for a while when we went for a cruise down the waterway. It was so much fun to watch her explore and play while we were riding. She acts so much like me that it is sometimes scary. I can remember when Anna and I would go out deep sea fishing with mom and dad how we would sit at the very front of the boat (straddling the rails so we couldn't fall off as easily) and try to stretch our legs and point our toes far enough down to dip into the water. Well that spot quickly became Reagan's spot on this ride! And I can also remember how I would sometimes get bored because it would feel like we had been out there fishing for HOURS, and I would ask Daddy to turn up the music so I could dance on the front of the boat to amuse myself. Well what do you know, little miss priss decided that the front of Pops' boat made the perfect dance floor when he turned on the music. I didn't even have to prompt her... she knew that it was made for dancing! Of course, all the fun and excitement tuckered her out, and she was asleep before we finished the loop. We could just see the house over the marsh grass (ours is the one with the two big palm trees out front - to the right of the one with the green roof) when she gave up the fight and closed her eyes!

FIRE TRUCK

Wouldn't you know... something amazing happened and I didn't have my camera with me at the time. Reagan has found a new fascination with fire trucks. I think that it has something to do with the fire truck that is INSIDE our local library that the kids can play on. That and the fact that you can almost always hear some sort of siren going off at some point each day at our house. It may be an ambulance or a police car, but to Reagan every siren is a FIRE TRUCK! So while we were at the beach, I had told Pops that if the fire trucks were ever parked outside of the the fire station when we went by that we would have to stop so Reagan could see it. We were on our way into town, and sure enough... there sat the big red truck. So Pops pulled over and we all hopped out of the car to go check it out. There was a fireman outside who was busy sweeping the walkway, and he started chatting with us as we were admiring the truck. Well, as soon as he realized that the cute little girl was in love with his fire truck he couldn't get the keys out fast enough. The next thing we knew, WE WERE ALL RIDING THROUGH SUNSET HARBOR IN THE FIRE TRUCK. Sirens blaring and everything. Reagan thought that it was the coolest thing in the world... we all did. When we got back to the station, the fireman gave Reagan a fire chief's hat and badge along with a bag full of goodies. She was one happy little girl. She couldn't stop talking about it that night... "I rode in the fire truck!" was all we heard. So a big thank you to the Sunset Harbor Volunteer Fire Department, and a big thank you to Pops for going back later and taking a picture of "Reagan's Fire Truck" for us!

Playing with her Hair

I love to play with Reagan's hair. And she is so good about letting me do it! I pull it back, braid it, curl it, straighten it, spray it, whatever... she likes for me to do it. I decided to pull it all back off of her face and out of the way this day, and couldn't resist taking a picture.

The Little Fisherman

As always when we are at the beach, Ryan was out on the end of the pier fishing. It didn't matter to him that it was cold and windy that day! Reagan went out to join him, but didn't stay for long. Dixie on the other hand would stay out there all day and all night if we would let her!

A Little Nutrition Please

After a morning full of candy, I was extremely pleased when Reagan asked to eat an apple. Like mother like daughter... I used to run around the beach house when I was around her age with an apple cored and tied around my neck because I loved them so much.

Do You Know What You're Doing Ah-Ah?

Auntie Anna may have had more fun than Reagan when it came to dying eggs. We all had a good time dying, coloring, wrapping and putting stickers on the eggs. But Ah-Ah "outshined" us all by using some glitter-foil stuff. It took her a few times to figure out what she was doing, but she eventually got the hang of it. We all look a little confused with the process in this picture, but Reagan's face is priceless. She has a look of genuine concern that Ah-Ah has no idea of what she is doing!

Dying Eggs

Reagan LOVED dying Easter eggs this year. It was her first time to give it a try, and she was instantly coloring and dying like she had been doing it for years. She was very proud of "her" egg (the one she is holding in the bottom picture) so she wouldn't put it down. She gave it hugs and kisses before finally adding it to the holder and moving on to the next egg.

A Sugar High

Sweet treats lead to the inevitable... HYPER CHILD! I love this picture because I actually captured her with both feet fully off the ground as she was jumping around on her sugar high.

Sweet Treats

Easter could not be complete without a sugar covered marshmellow bunny and some Cadberry Creme Eggs. Reagan proved she has a sweet tooth for the sweet treats!

Thank You Easter Bunny!

The Easter basket started off nice and neat. But after only a few minutes, there was stuff everywhere. One of Reagan's most used expressions is, "Oh no! I made a mess!" Trust me when I tell you that she said it quite a few times Easter morning!

Easter Bonnets

We went to Carolina this year for Easter, so Reagan went to visit Momsey at school the day before Spring Break began. Reagan acted like she was already in kindergarten. She would just walk right into the open classrooms and sit down with the older children. She even joined in with one third grade class! It was Mrs. Mary Jane Coward's class that Reagan fell in love with. She made a super cool Easter bonnet and some bunny ears to wear Easter morning. I must say thank you to all the teachers at East Elementary who are always so excited to see us when we come to visit Momsey and for allowing us to disrupt your classrooms! Momsey is lucky to work with such special people, and I am sure that she will miss you all greatly once she hits the road of retirement very soon!

Crazy Child

Photo Sharing - Video Sharing - Photo Printing - Photo Books

Reagan has been fighting a cold and an ear infection for a while now, so the doctor decided to put her on an antibiotic. She has been on this medicine before, but I had forgotten all about the CRAZY side effect it has on Reagan. It turns her into a WILD HYPER CHILD! Even more hyper than normal. Take a look at the video that we made of her 30 minutes after her nightly "dose" to see for yourself just how much fun we are having while we are sick. And just in case you can't decipher what she is saying through her stuffed up little nose... "ready, set, go puppy go!" or "dance dance me" or "all done puppy" at the very end.

Gymnastics Graduation

These pictures are a little out of order in regard to when they were taken, but I had to wait for the gymnastics coach to send them to me! (Yes, I actually left the house without taking my camera with me!) Reagan "graduated" from her gymnastics class at the end of January, and she is now in the SUPER BEASTS class! Here are a few cute pics of her receiving her medal on graduation day.

Just a Swingin'

Reagan loves to be outside. Every morning, the first thing she does when we get downstairs is start chanting "park, park, park, park." That is what she calls her backyard! So once it is warm enough, out we go! The past few days, she has started to become quite the little daredevil. She is so proud of herself for being able to swing in the "big girl" swing all by herself. No more baby swing for Reagan!

Reagan's Wagon

Reagan got a new wagon (thank you Pops and Momsey) and she loves going to the park in it everyday when Ryan gets home from work. It has become her new routine. Luckily, the weather has been phenomenal here the past couple of weeks. This is normally our rainy season, but it has been dry, sunny and warm (close to 60) each day for a while now. So we are taking advantage of it while we can, and we're soaking up the sun! Hopefully this means that winter is finally over and we can start getting ready for the summer!

Not So Sleepless in Seattle

After such an eventful day, Reagan was more than ready to go to bed!

M-I-C-K-E-Y-M-O-U-S-E

This was a star studded event. All of the characters from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, My Friends Tigger and Pooh, The Little Einsteins, and Handy Manny were in the house! Reagan wanted to get on stage with them all. As close as our seats were, she just about could!

Playhouse Disney!

Reagan's favorite TV station is Playhouse Disney, so we were very excited to find out that they were going to be performing live on stage in Seattle. That was the whole reason for our trip. The show was FANTASTIC! Reagan was in awe the entire time, and she was jumping up and down when Mickey Mouse came on stage. Something tells me that in just a few more years, this little girl is going to be begging to go to Disney World!

The Fun Park

The Space Needle caters to ALL ages... they strategically placed a kids fun park right at the base of the needle that was impossible to resist! We were a little hesitant at first, but Reagan insisted on riding the rides all by herself. The elephant ride picture is a bit tough to see, but sure enough she was spinning round and flying high all on her own. The cars weren't too dangerous, but she had to compromise and let me ride the carousel with her. We had such a good time!

Pike Place Public Market

We took the monorail train to the Pike Place Public Market by the waterfront in Seattle. That was one busy place! It reminded me a bit of the French Quarter in New Orleans with the open market style, but it wasn't quite as big. Again, the views from the waterfront were spectacular. Reagan loved riding on the "choo choo train" (too bad it didn't have the whistle that she was listening for!) and she had the pigeons practically eating out of her hand. I must admit that I am quite impressed with the picture of the sea gull standing over the highway with Safeco Field in the background. I'm not sure how it happened, but it turned out pretty cool!
